MARÍLIA VARGAS
One of the most active and respected sopranos of her generation, Marília Vargas divides her time between concerts, classes, masterclasses and music festivals, which regularly take her to several European countries, Latin America, Japan and China.
Among his collaborations with ensembles and orchestras, there are several performances with La Capella Reial de Catalunya, Le Parlement de Musique, Ensemble Turicum, Zürcher Kammerorchester, Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira (OSB), Orquestra Sinfônica do Teatro Municipal de São Paulo and Orquestra Sinfônica of the State of São Paulo (OSESP) - which regularly take her to several theaters, including the Wiener Konzerthaus, Theater Royal de Versailles, Berliner Konzerthaus, Gran Liceo de Barcelona, Tonhalle Zürich, Theater Basel, Helsinki Music Centre, Auditorium de Dijon, National Center of Performing Arts in Beijing, Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, Municipal Theater of São Paulo and Sala São Paulo.
Graduated in Baroque Singing at Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and in Lied and Oratory at the Zurich Conservatory in Switzerland, she studied with Neyde Thomas, Montserrat Figueras, Christoph Prégardien and Silvana Bartoli.
FERNANDO CORDELLA, harpsichord
Fernando Cordella is considered one of the leading harpsichordists of his generation in Latin America. Conductor and artistic director of the Bach Porto Alegre Society. In São Paulo, he received the TOYP JCI award as the most expressive figure in Brazil in 2015, in the “Cultural Success” category.
He has worked as a soloist and guest conductor in the main orchestras in Brazil and abroad, in projects with: Luis Otávio Santos, Peter van Heyghen, Nathalie Stutzmann, Olivia Centurioni, Roman Garrioud, Michaela Comberti, Bart Naessens, Rodolfo Richter, among others._cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_
He is coordinator of the Baroque Music Workshop at the Municipal School of Music of São Paulo and professor of the Harpsichord Class at the same institution – Fundação Theatro Municipal de São Paulo. A pianist by training, he had his guidance with the Brazilian pianist Dirce Knijnik and later at the Federal University of Rio Grande Sul with Prof. Dr. André Loss. On the harpsichord, Nicolau de Figueiredo was his main teacher.
Winner of the Açorianos Award 2011 as best performer for the album “CRAVOS – from Frescobaldi to Mozart”.
